Supporting the Chamber Champion Awards 2020

The show must go on! That’s what Richard Sheehan, Shropshire Chamber’s Chief Executive said when it was announced that the 2020 awards would still go ahead, but in an entirely different format.

The Chamber Champion Awards 2020 will be live-streamed from a specially constructed TV studio, this Friday, July 17.

The Business Company is sponsoring the ‘Good Neighbour Award’ which is one of seven main awards, all of which recognise community-minded achievements during the coronavirus.

The virtual attendees will get the opportunity to take part in an online vote, and there’s talk of a few other surprises being thrown into the mix too!

Richard Sheehan, Shropshire Chamber’s chief executive, said:

“This all-new event is a unique opportunity to work with the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce to recognise and celebrate the inspiring, inventive, and community spirit of local businesses and business-people.

“These challenging times have certainly bought about so many amazing stories of how organisations and individuals have got involved and made a real difference, and who deserve the recognition of the entire business community.”

“We are proud to support the Chamber Champion Awards. As a business, we are acutely aware of our responsibility to the wider community and for us, as with many in society, this has been magnified by the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a small part of this, we wanted to recognise those going above and beyond in our community by sponsoring ‘The Chamber Champion Award for Good Neighbour’ where people can nominate a business or individual going out of their way to help – this could just be as simple as helping to run errands, do some much-needed shopping, tidying homes and gardens, walking dogs or simply popping round for a chat to help with loneliness.”
